Lability & Responsibility

At Aquattan, Corporate Responsibility (CR) is about delivering the maximum benefits of responsible business practice while minimizing the negative impacts of our operations. During the integration of all businesses, we have drawn upon the heritage of each company to help define our CR efforts.

Our Executive Committee approved our CR Policy in 2008, establishing how we will manage our relationships with stakeholders in four areas:

  • Our workplace (employees);
  • The community (the places and societies in which we operate)
  • The marketplace (customers, suppliers and investors); and
  • The environment.

By articulating focus areas, we are able to define our response to global standards and charters in ways that are meaningful and relevant to our business. Integral to the delivery of our policy is a robust governance and communications strategy.

Our immediate CR priorities are:

  • The launch of our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics to all staff diversity;
  • Community impact;
  • Responsible sourcing; and
  • The environment.

GOVERNANCE

Our CR program is embedded in the way we do business, and delivered through programs and policies owned within relevant functions and business units. A formal CR Governance Board will help us to deliver against focus areas in partnership with the businesses and through directed communication to staff.

During 2022, we will launch our implementation plans for our priorities, including measurement, reporting and governance. Against each commitment, we will assign a business division and a performance target in order to meet legislative requirements, specific quantitative goals or our own CR ambitions. Our targets will be reviewed at least annually. Assessment will focus on identifying financial, legal, environmental and societal risks and opportunities across the four stakeholder groups.

The executive sponsor of the CR policy will feed upwards to the Aquattan executive committee and to the board the outcome of each CR Governance Board meeting and the annual assessment exercise. The executive sponsor is a member of the Aquattan executive committee designated by the CEO.

The CR Policy itself will be the subject of an annual review by the CR governance board with amendments endorsed by the committee.

Details of the CR governance board will be published externally including the membership, specific areas of responsibility for each member, scheduled meeting dates and significant outcomes from each meeting.

Because corporate responsibility is an integral part of the way we do business, Aquattan does not produce a stand-alone annual CR or sustainability report.

THE TRUST PRINCIPLES
